Evolving with Technology: My Professional Journey

I was born in the late 80s in the southeast of England, in a small area of Kent called Swale. My early years were spent playing football outside with friends, until my teenage years when the lure and growth of the internet began to change the world. By the age of 16, my curiosity about how it all worked took over, and I started to learn the fundamentals of online technology.

In my late teens, I began building websites for family and friends and took on my first client. A couple of years later, I started working as a web developer for a book publishing company. During this time, I spent a year living in Thailand, residing in a condo in Bangkok. When my visa expired, I returned to the UK just as my employer was shutting down.

In the mid-2010s, I took a role at a local manufacturing company to earn some money while I pursued an Open University Honours Degree in Computing & IT, specializing in software development. Balancing a full-time job and studying, I secured multiple promotions within the business and eventually transitioned to the IT department. There, I worked as an IT technician, supporting the company’s computing needs, from general tech support to setting up networks, servers, and even programming software.

As I moved into the 2020s, I continued to advance and earned a promotion to Business Process Manager. In this role, I use my knowledge of technology and software to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and streamlining operations across the business.

Planning Our Future: A Home in Thailand and New Adventures

In the late 2010s, I married my wonderful wife, and together, we began planning and building our future. Our first big step was to create a home in Thailand, a place for us to eventually emigrate to. We purchased a piece of land and began construction toward the end of 2023.

By early 2024, the house was completed, but there is still much to do. We need to furnish it with essentials like a kitchen, beds, and an office, as well as add some extras like televisions. There is also a lot of work to be done on the surrounding land, including installing fences, gates, and a driveway—and maybe even adding a pool. It’s a big project, but each step brings a lot of excitement. We’ve set a deadline to move to Thailand by the end of 2026.

I’m looking forward to the challenge of transitioning from the hustle and bustle of the UK to a quieter life in a small village in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, a few hours northeast of Bangkok.

I’ve always had an interest in game development, and I plan to start working on an indie game once we’ve moved to Thailand. I am already learning the skills required to create a game on my own and am in the process of writing and planning the story. In addition to this new venture, I’ll continue working part-time as a web developer and remain in my current role with my company.

Neo's World: A French Bulldog's Life of Snuggles and Snacks

Neo is our French Bulldog, and he truly rules the house—whatever he wants, he gets. He loves short walks, cuddles, and, most of all, sleeping. You can often find him curled up on the sofa, snoring loudly enough to shake the roof!

Neo is a foodie at heart, with a special love for cheese. However, whatever we are eating instantly becomes his new favorite. He'll gaze up at you with those big, sad eyes, as if he hasn't eaten in days, when in reality, his bowl is always full. Naturally, he believes our food tastes far better.

Zoomies are a favorite pastime, and he absolutely loves his balls. Fetch isn’t quite his game—he’ll chase the ball and bring it back, but then expects you to fight him for it. You have to earn the privilege of throwing it again!.

He enjoys his walks but has a limit of a couple of kilometers before he gets tired. When he’s done, he makes it clear by simply lying down and refusing to move. Rain is a definite no-go for Neo—if it starts raining, he expects a quick run back home!

Neo adores other dogs and is always ready to play, though not every dog shares his enthusiasm, which often leaves him puzzled. He’s also a social butterfly with people and wants to say hello to everyone he sees on his walks, which can make a "quick" stroll take much longer than planned.
